The superintendent of the Muscatine Community School District is responsible for closing schools, delaying start times, dismissing early, or keeping school open beyond the regular school day in the case of extreme weather or emergency conditions.  Any occasion for an unannounced schedule change is broadcast over radio stations KWPC (860AM) and KWPC (93.1 FM).  Announcements are also posted by local TV stations:  KWQC (Channel 6) , WQAD (Channel 8), and KLJB (Channel 18).

Dress code:
Bishop Hayes students in kindergarten - 5th grades follow a dress code.

Fees:
Books ~ Book fees include the rental of all textbooks, consumable books, new textbook adoptions, and other needed educational materials.

Tuition ~ Tuition is reviewed annually and is the same for both parish and non-parish families.  Payments may be made annually, quarterly, monthly or weekly as is most convenient.

No Catholic child will be denied a Catholic education due to the family’s inability to pay tuition.  Special arrangements can be made privately with the principal at the August registration or before school starts.  All information is confidential.

Transportation:
Transportation by bus is available through the Muscatine Community Schools.  Students must ride their assigned buses and may not change buses unless the family moves.  Bus fees are due at the time of August registration for those students living within two miles of the school.  Fees may not apply if walking to school presents a hazard to your child.

Lunch Program:
Bishop Hayes Catholic School is a satellite school of the Muscatine Community School District meal program.
